Trips & rates

Your boat, your crew, your day

Every trip is private. Prices are per boat, not per person, so a family of six pays the same as a pair. Long runs to the outer banks burn more fuel, so those are quoted with fuel before you book. No surprises at the dock.

The boat

Luhrs 38 Tournament Express

A purpose-built express sportfisher with a tuna tower, outriggers and a wide-open cockpit. Enough boat to run to the banks on a sloppy day, and enough shade and seating that the non-anglers in the family are glad they came.

What to bring

FAQ

Questions we get every week

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes. Mexico requires a license for everyone 12 and older who fishes, about $20 per person per day. We buy them for your group before departure, so you only need to give us names when you book.

Is this good for kids and non-anglers?

That is the point of the boat. The half-day inshore trip has steady action on roosterfish and sierra, calm water near the cape, kid-size life vests, shade and a head. Many families send two anglers to the rods and the rest to the cooler and the cameras.

Why is the long-range trip quoted instead of fixed?

A run to the Gorda Banks or the Finger Bank can burn twice the fuel of a standard day. Rather than bake a worst case into every price, we add the actual fuel estimate to the long-range quote so you see the full number before you pay a deposit.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the port captain closes the harbor, you choose a new date or get your deposit back in full. If the harbor is open, the captain decides where to fish, and some of the best days start grey.

Can we keep what we catch?

Dorado, tuna and wahoo, yes, within Mexican bag limits. We release marlin unless you tell us you want to keep one, which the law allows at one per angler per day. The mate cleans and bags everything at the dock.

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits are refundable in full up to 14 days before the trip and 50 percent refundable up to 7 days before. Inside 7 days the deposit is held but can be moved to another date within a year.
